CIRCULAR NO. 08/2004
SUB: RECOMMENDATORY COMMITTEES
In held up as well as to facilitate trade in the new environment of our business friendly strategy the Collectorate of Customs (Appraisement) has constituted order to ensure speedy and amicable remedial measures in cases which could potentially lead to consignments getting the following recommendatory committees with immediate effect and until further orders.
These Committees shall function, as follows:
1. The committees comprise of three members to be assisted by the relevant Principal Appraiser who shall be act as the Secretary of the Committee.
2. The committee shall be chaired by the senior trade member.
3. Role of these committees will be recommendatory in nature and their decisions must be unanimous which would be subject to the approval of the Collector / CBR.
4. Meeting would be convened at the Custom House.
This issues with the approval of the competent authority.
