FBR Seals Two Tobacco Factories in Mardan

PESHAWAR: FBR has sealed the factories of Indus Tobacco and Souvenir Tobacco in Mardan after raids uncovered massive non-duty-paid & non-track-and-trace cigarette production, slapping Rule 28A(6) penalties. On Nov 3, I&I-IR Peshawar stormed a secret godown, seizing 200 cartons of fake Business Class, Red, Crown brands belonging to Indus Tobacco. Despite armed resistance from the owner — linked to a powerful political family — officers sealed both plants on Nov 29. FBR is now deploying 120 Pakistan Rangers at GLT units nationwide and 200+ monitors inside factories to crush illicit tobacco once and for all
