Sindh-Balochistan Gas Supply Down 55% in 8 Years

ISLAMABAD: Gas supply to Sindh & Balochistan via SSGC has collapsed 55% in just eight years — from 1,192 MMSCFD in FY18 to a shocking 640 MMSCFD this year — as local fields bleed out and crisis deepens. Year-by-year bloodbath: 1,155 → 1,100 → 984 → 921 → 840 → 732 → 730 → 640 MMSCFD. Total loss: 552 MMSCFD gone forever. SSGC claims zero load-shedding for domestic & industry by night-time shutdowns (10pm–5am), pressure profiling, and 6,000+ km pipeline rehab already done**, 5,000 km more coming. CNG gets just 2–3 MMSCFD RLNG and weekly winter closures. Reality: indigenous gas is dying fast — SSGC fighting a losing battle to keep homes and factories alive.
