ISLAMABAD: On PM Shehbaz Sharif’s direct orders, FBR has unleashed a nationwide crackdown on cigarette tax evaders, filing five FIRs and seizing massive non-stamped consignments worth hundreds of millions in dodged revenue. Sargodha raids:

• Universal Tobacco: Rs11.5M evasion
• Souvenir Tobacco: Rs27.5M + 62 packets outside Mardan warehouse
• Wembley Tobacco: Rs47M across three trucks Mardan chaos: Indus Tobacco armed goons (25 men) blocked & threatened FBR team after 246.5 units of illegal cigarettes seized from secret godowns. Factories already under 40-B monitoring — how are they still leaking? All accused now face Federal Excise Act hammer.
