ECC Raises OMC/Dealer Margins, Fuel Prices to Climb

ISLAMABAD: The ECC on Tuesday greenlit a 5–10% margin hike for OMCs and petroleum dealers on petrol & HSD — half paid now, half tied to digitization by June 2026 — a move that will directly jack up pump prices unless the government eats the cost (it won’t). ECC also:

• Ordered Power Division to craft medium-term circular debt exit plan
• Kept Transfer of Residence & Gift vehicle schemes, slapped commercial standards + 3-year cycle + 1-year non-transfer
• Banned chloroform imports except for DRAP-NOC pharma
• Rejected Ghani Glass’s cheap gas plea
• Released Rs1.28B for Pakistan Digital Authority, Rs5B for Housing, PIA Holding pension funds
• Created SPV to bury PASSCO and settle debts
