OMCs Revenue Dips, Sales Surge 9.5% in FY25

KARACHI: Pakistan’s OMCs clocked Rs4,416 billion in gross revenue for FY25 — a hairline dip from Rs4,438B last year — as global crude softened and prices eased, PACRA study reveals. Volumetric sales roared 9.5% to 18.5M MT (local 10.5M + imports 8M), highest since FY23. Refinery output +4%, imports +18%. 48 OMCs now (up from 39) after Shell/Total exit — Aramco, Gunvor, Wafi storm in, signaling global comeback. Imports hit 43% of supply, but 19% of total import bill (down from 22%). Transport still king, but hybrid/EV wave + Chinese auto blitz threatens long-term fuel thirst. Power sector demand flat with solar surge. OMCs must pivot to EV charging or bleed.
