KARACHI: Pakistan’s five major refineries — ARL, PARCO, Cnergyico, NRL, PRL — have sounded a red alert to OGRA, warning OMCs’ refusal to lift agreed HSD volumes is crippling operations and threatening national fuel chaos. In a December 10 joint letter, they blasted PRM decisions being openly ignored — Dec 1–9 only 108,523 tonnes lifted vs 146,468 tonnes target, while jet fuel pressure surges. Refineries slammed OGRA-cleared import floods burying local product, flouting Rule 35(g) mandating domestic priority. Copies fired to Energy Minister, Petroleum Secretary, DG Oil — urgent intervention demanded or supply chain collapses.
