SSGC Q1 Profit Falls to Rs271M on UFG Disallowances

KARACHI: Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) has suffered a devastating profit plunge in the quarter ended September 30, 2025, with profit after tax crashing to Rs271 million from Rs4.87 billion last year — EPS collapsing to Rs0.31 from Rs5.53. Profit before tax tumbled to Rs1.33 billion vs Rs4.91 billion, hammered by OGRA’s brutal UFG disallowances — Rs4.68 billion this quarter against Rs1.74 billion prior. WACOG climbed 3.5% to Rs1,147.03/MCF, adding Rs158 million in UFG losses. Finance costs eased marginally to Rs3.30 billion. SSGC books 21.25% prescribed return on assets, but UFG, HR benchmarks, and doubtful debts gutted the bottom line. The company is fighting OGRA rulings, but quarterly results already reflect the pro-rata pain.
