KARACHI: The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has declared Thursday, January 1, 2026 a full bank holiday, closing all public dealings across the central bank, commercial banks, development finance institutions (DFIs), and microfinance banks (MFBs).
In an official notice, the SBP confirmed the closure aligns with the New Year observance. However, bank employees will report to offices as normal for internal operations and back-office work.
