PRA Reports 35% Revenue Growth in First Half

| 05-Jan-2026

The Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) has reported a 35% year-on-year increase in revenue collection during the first half of the ongoing fiscal year, recording receipts of Rs149.5 billion from July to December, compared to Rs112.1 billion during the corresponding period of the previous year, according to an official statement issued by the authority.

The reported growth reflects enhanced collections across multiple provincial tax heads during the initial six months of the fiscal cycle. A PRA spokesperson attributed the improved performance to a series of administrative and structural reforms designed to strengthen tax compliance and streamline enforcement mechanisms.

The authority further stated that the increase is largely attributable to revised tax collection procedures, along with initiatives introduced to enhance transparency, efficiency, and governance within the provincial tax framework.

Provincial officials indicated that the improved revenue inflow is expected to contribute to fiscal stability and facilitate sustained funding for developmental and social welfare initiatives across Punjab.
