SECP Reports 21,668 New Company Registrations in H1 FY26

The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) has reported the incorporation of 21,668 new companies during the first half of the current financial year, marking a substantial rise from 16,839 registrations in the corresponding period of the previous year. This brings the cumulative number of registered companies across Pakistan to 279,724.

The newly formed entities injected paid-up capital amounting to Rs30.7 billion, demonstrating a healthy 29% year-on-year growth and underscoring improving investor confidence in business formation.

Sectoral breakdown reveals strong momentum in technology-driven segments, with Information Technology and e-commerce leading at 4,277 incorporations, followed by trading (2,997), services (2,686), and real estate development & construction (2,031). The top ten sectors collectively dominated new registrations, highlighting sustained entrepreneurial activity in digital, commercial, and property-related domains.

Foreign direct investment inflows remained encouraging, as 524 newly incorporated companies attracted Rs1.26 billion in foreign capital, involving participation from 731 overseas investors. China emerged as the dominant contributor, supplying 71% of the total foreign investment, trailed by Afghanistan (8%) and the United States (2%). The United Kingdom, Germany, South Africa, South Korea, Norway, Vietnam, Nigeria, and Bangladesh each accounted for 1%, with the balance of 11% originating from various other jurisdictions.

These figures reflect a resilient incorporation landscape and growing cross-border interest in Pakistan’s corporate ecosystem.
