PSX Mandates Gender Pay Gap Disclosure for Listed Firms

The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) has instructed all listed companies to compulsorily disclose gender pay gap statistics in both their annual reports and on their official websites, in accordance with directives issued by the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP).

In an official notice circulated to listed entities, the PSX stated that the directive stems from SECP Circular No. 10 of 2024 dated April 17, 2024, along with earlier PSX communications, including the most recent notice issued on January 5, 2026. Companies have been directed to present the required information strictly in the format prescribed by the regulator.

According to the PSX, mandatory disclosure of gender pay gap data is intended to enhance corporate transparency while promoting gender equality and workforce diversity across Pakistan’s listed companies. The initiative is also aligned with the objectives of the Prime Minister’s Women Empowerment Package 2024.

Listed companies with a financial year ending on December 31 have been specifically reminded to ensure complete compliance in their forthcoming annual reports, as the financial year ending December 31, 2025, has now concluded.

The notice cautioned that non-compliance with the disclosure requirements, or submission of partial or inaccurate information in annual reports or on corporate websites, could lead to enforcement action by the SECP against defaulting entities.

The PSX urged all listed companies to carefully note the requirements and ensure thorough and timely compliance to avoid regulatory consequences.
