FIA Reports Rs18bn Recoveries, Strong Enforcement Results 2025

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) reported substantial operational outcomes for 2025, achieving recoveries amounting to Rs18 billion, obtaining 4,244 convictions, and arresting 2,333 accused persons, as outlined in its Annual Performance Report 2025.

During the reporting year, the FIA processed 68,551 enquiries, including 41,750 carried over from 2024 and 26,801 newly initiated matters. Of these, 34,078 enquiries were concluded, 6,383 were escalated into formal criminal cases, while 34,473 remained under active consideration.

On the litigation front, the agency handled 36,265 cases, comprising 26,610 pending from the previous year and 9,655 registered in 2025. The FIA submitted challans in 16,236 cases, disposed of 17,339 cases, and recorded 18,926 matters pending at different stages of investigation and adjudication.

According to the report, enforcement efforts primarily focused on financial crimes, corruption, fraud, and organized economic offences, underscoring the FIA’s expanding role in fiscal accountability and regulatory enforcement. Authorities further noted that institutional reforms are underway to enhance investigative quality, prosecutorial effectiveness, and public confidence in enforcement mechanisms.
