SBP Announces Ramadan 2026 Banking Timings

The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has formally notified revised office and public dealing hours for Ramadan 2026, applicable to all commercial banks, development finance institutions (DFIs), and microfinance banks operating nationwide.

Under the revised schedule, SBP offices will function from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, Monday through Thursday, and from 9:00 am to 12:30 pm on Fridays, without observing any mid-day break.

For public-facing banking operations, financial institutions have been directed to serve customers from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm, Monday to Thursday, while Friday banking hours will be limited to 9:00 am to 12:30 pm.

The central bank clarified that these Ramadan-specific timings will automatically revert to the regular pre-Ramadan schedule upon conclusion of the holy month.

The announcement follows the declaration by the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee confirming the sighting of the Ramadan 2026 moon, with the first fast to be observed on Thursday, February 19.
