LESCO Ends Post Office Bill Payments April 1

The Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) has formally announced that, effective April 1, 2026, electricity bills will no longer be accepted at post offices for payment processing.

According to the company, the decision was taken pursuant to a resolution passed during the 309th meeting of its Board of Directors. The move signals a shift in LESCO’s payment collection framework, likely aimed at streamlining transactions and reducing reliance on manual or over-the-counter public sector channels.

Consumers have been advised to ensure timely settlement of their bills through alternative payment mechanisms. These include QR code-enabled payments, designated commercial banks, and other authorised digital and institutional collection channels. The company has emphasised that failure to adapt to these alternative methods could result in delays or disruption in bill processing.

Electricity consumers within LESCO’s jurisdiction are therefore encouraged to verify approved payment avenues in advance and adjust their payment practices accordingly before the April 1 deadline.
