FBR Expands POS Integration Across Retail Sector

The Federal Board of Revenue has expanded its Point of Sales (POS) integration framework, bringing 12,861 retailers—including Tier-I retailers, textile and leather businesses, and restaurants—into the system as of March 10, 2026, as part of ongoing efforts to document commercial transactions.

Official figures indicate that the total number of integrated outlets and branches has reached 35,761 during the reporting period.

Within this framework, 11,301 Tier-I retailers have been registered under the POS regime, with approximately 23,674 of their operational branches successfully linked to the network.

In the restaurant sector, 1,000 outlets have been registered, while 1,490 associated branches have been integrated into the system.

Similarly, 560 textile and leather sector retailers have been enrolled, with around 10,597 of their branches connected to the POS infrastructure.

As of February 2026, the total number of registered large-scale retailers stood at 11,141, reflecting a continued upward trend in compliance and registration levels.

It is also noted that the FBR has removed certain datasets and graphical representations from its official website that previously detailed the operational status of retailer branches, including classifications such as connected, disconnected, active, inactive, or closed entities.
