PTA Approves PTML Telenor Merger Under PTCL

The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority has granted approval for the proposed amalgamation of Pak Telecom Mobile Limited and Telenor Pakistan, both wholly owned subsidiaries of Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited, as disclosed in a regulatory filing submitted to the Pakistan Stock Exchange.

The approval has been issued through an order dated March 19, 2026, and remains conditional upon the submission of an unconditional acceptance of the stipulated regulatory terms within a 15-day period.

As outlined in the disclosure, the proposed merger will be executed through a scheme of arrangement in accordance with applicable corporate, securities, and regulatory frameworks.

Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited has notified the exchange pursuant to Rule 5.6.1 of the PSX Rule Book, along with the relevant provisions of the Securities Act, 2015.

The company has further indicated that subsequent developments relating to the transaction will be duly communicated to the exchange in compliance with applicable disclosure requirements.
