The Pakistan Customs has conducted a significant enforcement action at the arrivals terminal of Jinnah International Airport, resulting in the seizure of gold jewellery, gold bars, and foreign currency collectively valued at approximately Rs190 million.

According to official sources, a passenger traveling on a Pakistani passport, arriving from Abu Dhabi along with accompanying family members on an international flight, was intercepted and directed to the red channel for comprehensive examination.

During the scanning of checked baggage and hand-carried items, customs authorities identified concealed valuables. A subsequent physical search resulted in the recovery of 281 tolas of 22-karat gold jewellery, in addition to two gold bars of 24-karat purity, each weighing 10 tolas.

Furthermore, authorities recovered foreign currency holdings comprising $33,100 and 366,000 UAE dirhams.

Proceedings have been initiated under the Customs Act, 1969, with the confiscated items taken into official custody. Authorities have confirmed that further investigation into the matter is currently underway.
