Pakistan Mobile Production Rises 20% in March 2026

Pakistan’s mobile phone manufacturing and assembly recorded a 20 per cent year-on-year increase in March 2026, with total production reaching 2.79 million units, according to figures released by the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority.

This compares to 2.33 million units produced in March 2025, indicating sustained momentum in local handset manufacturing.

During the first quarter of 2026, cumulative production stood at 7.36 million units, reflecting a modest 2.0 per cent increase over the corresponding period last year.

The data further indicates that domestically assembled devices met approximately 86 per cent of total mobile phone demand during the quarter, highlighting a continued shift toward local production.

On a brand-wise basis, VGO TEL led production with 1.12 million units assembled during the quarter. Infinix followed with 0.75 million units, while Vivo and Samsung recorded outputs of 0.56 million and 0.52 million units, respectively.

Other contributors included itel with 0.5 million units, Tecno at 0.44 million units, Nokia at 0.4 million units, X Mobile at 0.35 million units, OPPO at 0.29 million units, and Realme with 0.27 million units.

Analysts at Topline Research attributed the growth in local assembly to enhanced manufacturing capabilities and policy measures aimed at reducing reliance on fully built imports while encouraging domestic value addition.
