SRB Achieves Record Rs370 Billion Tax Collection

The Sindh Revenue Board (SRB) has reported its highest-ever annual revenue collection, generating Rs370.06 billion during FY2025-26, reflecting a 20.17% increase compared to Rs307.93 billion collected in the preceding financial year.

According to the provincial tax authority, the record performance was primarily driven by higher receipts under the Sindh Sales Tax (SST) regime, with SST collections increasing by 21.2% to Rs344.60 billion, compared with Rs284.38 billion recorded during FY2024-25.

Collections under the Sindh Workers’ Welfare Fund (SWWF) and the Sindh Companies Profits Workers’ Participation Fund (SWPF) also registered steady growth, rising by 10% to Rs24.44 billion from Rs22.25 billion in the previous fiscal year.

The SRB further disclosed that Agricultural Income Tax (AIT), the administration of which was recently entrusted to the Board, generated revenue exceeding Rs1 billion during FY2025-26.

The authority also achieved its highest monthly revenue collection on record during June 2026, when receipts reached Rs45.08 billion, representing an increase of 28.3% over the Rs35.15 billion collected in May 2026.

In its official statement, the SRB noted that the record revenue performance was achieved despite subdued economic activity and the adverse impact of regional geopolitical tensions on revenue generation during the latter part of the financial year.

The Board attributed the growth in collections to strengthened tax administration, enhanced enforcement measures, improved operational efficiency, the dedicated efforts of its workforce, continued support from the Government of Sindh, and increased cooperation and compliance by taxpayers.

Looking ahead, the SRB stated that its revenue strategy for FY2026-27 will focus on further broadening the provincial tax base, enhancing voluntary tax compliance, strengthening enforcement initiatives, and accelerating the digital transformation of tax administration to improve efficiency and taxpayer services.
