Pakistan Customs Hits Record Monthly Revenue Collection

Pakistan Customs has achieved its highest-ever monthly Customs Duty collection, generating Rs158 billion during June 2026, surpassing the assigned monthly target of Rs144 billion by approximately 10%.

According to official performance statistics released by Pakistan Customs, total taxes collected on imported goods amounted to Rs467 billion during June 2026, representing a 33% year-on-year increase compared with Rs350.3 billion collected in June 2025.

Customs Duty collections for the month reached Rs158 billion, reflecting an increase of 24% over the Rs127 billion collected during the corresponding month of the previous year.

For the financial year FY2025-26, Pakistan Customs reported total import-related tax collections of Rs4.692 trillion, compared with Rs4.131 trillion recorded in FY2024-25, representing an annual growth of 13.6%.

During the same period, annual Customs Duty collections amounted to Rs1.331 trillion, registering a 4% year-on-year increase while achieving approximately 99% of the annual revenue target assigned to the department.

Collections under the Petroleum Development Levy (PDL) on imported petroleum products also recorded significant growth, increasing to Rs752 billion during FY2025-26, compared with Rs628 billion collected in the previous financial year, reflecting an annual increase of 20%.

Commenting on the department’s performance, Syed Shakeel Shah, Member Customs (Operations), stated that the record revenue collection reflects the operational efficiency, enhanced transparency, and ongoing digital transformation initiatives implemented across Pakistan Customs.

He noted that exceeding the monthly revenue target by a substantial margin demonstrates the department’s commitment to facilitating legitimate trade while ensuring effective revenue mobilisation for the national exchequer.

According to Pakistan Customs, the exceptional performance achieved during June 2026 represents a significant milestone in monthly revenue collection, supported by higher import-related tax receipts, improved Customs Duty collections, and continued improvements in customs administration and operational efficiency.
