petrol Prices Rise Rs1.09 for July 31

ISLAMABAD: The federal government on Thursday announced another increase in fuel prices, raising petrol by Rs1.09 per litre and high-speed diesel (HSD) by Rs2.42 per litre under the revised daily petroleum pricing mechanism. The updated rates will remain effective for July 31, 2026.

According to the Petroleum Division, the ex-depot price of petrol has increased from Rs335.06 to Rs336.15 per litre, reflecting a hike of Rs1.09 per litre.

Likewise, the ex-depot price of high-speed diesel has been revised upward from Rs390.62 to Rs393.04 per litre, marking an increase of Rs2.42 per litre.

The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) issued the notification in accordance with the federal government's revised petroleum pricing policy, under which fuel prices are now reviewed and adjusted on a daily basis.

High-speed diesel is extensively used by heavy transport vehicles, agricultural equipment, railways and industrial operations. As a result, any increase in HSD prices is widely regarded as inflationary because it pushes up transportation, logistics and production costs throughout the economy.

Petrol is mainly used by motorcycles, cars and other private vehicles, meaning any change in its price directly affects millions of motorists across the country.

The revised fuel prices will remain in force for July 31, 2026, unless the government announces another adjustment under the daily petroleum pricing mechanism.
