OGRA raises LPG Cylinder Price Rises by Rs152

The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has increased liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) prices for August 2026, raising the cost of an 11.8kg domestic cylinder by Rs152.01 from August 1. The regulator has also announced a significant increase in Re-gasified Liquefied Natural Gas (RLNG) transmission and distribution tariffs for July 2026.

Under the revised LPG pricing, the consumer price has been set at Rs254,315.35 per tonne for August, up from Rs241,432.84 per tonne in July. Consequently, the retail price of an 11.8kg domestic LPG cylinder has increased from Rs2,848.91 to Rs3,000.92, reflecting a rise of Rs12.89 per kilogram.

OGRA has also revised producer prices upward, fixing the ex-plant rate at Rs213,015.35 per tonne, compared with Rs200,132.84 per tonne in July. As a result, the producer price of an 11.8kg LPG cylinder has climbed by Rs152.01, reaching Rs2,513.58 from Rs2,361.57. The revised LPG prices will remain effective throughout August 2026.

Separately, the regulator has notified higher RLNG transmission and distribution tariffs for July 2026 for both Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) and Sui Southern Gas Company Limited (SSGCL).

For SNGPL, the transmission tariff has increased by 32.12% to $23.7020 per MMBtu, up from $17.9394 per MMBtu, while the distribution tariff has risen 32.35% to $25.8388 per MMBtu, compared with $19.5228 per MMBtu previously.

For SSGCL, the transmission tariff has been raised 35.78% to $22.2251 per MMBtu from $16.3679 per MMBtu, while the distribution tariff has increased 34.62% to $25.0872 per MMBtu, up from $18.6360 per MMBtu.

According to OGRA, the revised RLNG tariffs were determined in line with the federal government's policy guidelines and came into effect from July 1, 2026.
