Petrol Price Cut RS2.20/litre From August 8

ISLAMABAD: The government has cut petrol prices by Rs2.20 per litre and High-Speed Diesel (HSD) by Rs1.50 per litre under the latest petroleum price revision.

Following the adjustment, the ex-depot price of petrol has fallen from Rs329.82 to Rs327.62 per litre, while HSD has dropped from Rs382.36 to Rs380.86 per litre.

According to pricing sheets issued by OGRA, the revised rates will take effect from August 8, 2026.

The import-based ex-refinery price of petrol has been set at Rs218.63 per litre, while the ex-refinery/import price of HSD stands at Rs280.44 per litre.

The government has kept the Petroleum Levy at Rs80 per litre for petrol and Rs74.28 per litre for HSD. A Climate Support Levy of Rs5 per litre remains applicable to both products, while sales tax continues to be zero.

The latest reduction reflects changes in international Platts Arab Gulf benchmark prices and other import-related costs, including freight, exchange-rate adjustments, customs duties and the Inland Freight Equalisation Margin (IFEM).

The revision is expected to offer some relief to consumers and businesses, particularly as HSD prices directly affect transportation, agriculture and industrial costs, while petrol remains widely used by motorists and motorcycle owners.
