Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Achieves Significant Revenue Boost in H1 2025

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provincial government has recorded a remarkable 49% increase in revenue generation for the first half of the current financial year, accumulating Rs42.3 billion—up from Rs28.4 billion in the same timeframe last year.

A meeting chaired by Muzzammil Aslam, the Chief Minister's advisor on Finance and Interprovincial Coordination, reviewed the revenue performance from both tax and non-tax sources within various provincial departments.

Official reports reveal that the province has already achieved 90.7% of its annual revenue target, set at Rs93.5 billion, within just the first six months of the fiscal year, marking a notable improvement over last year’s 66% performance in the same period.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Revenue Authority (KPRA) played a leading role in meeting these financial goals, contributing Rs24 billion in tax revenue. Meanwhile, the Excise and Taxation Department successfully met its target, gathering Rs2.85 billion. The Transport and Mass Transit Department far exceeded expectations, achieving 151% of its revenue goal by collecting Rs624 million.

Aslam credited the government’s dedicated efforts to improving fiscal management and enhancing provincial revenue streams for this exceptional financial performance. Senior officials, including Asif Rashid, Tauseef Khalid, and Hamid Raza, were also present at the meeting to discuss further steps to maintain this fiscal momentum
