Petrol and Diesel Prices Cut for August 28

The federal government has lowered petrol and High-Speed Diesel (HSD) prices by Rs0.50 and Rs0.19 per litre, respectively, for August 28, 2026, under the country’s revised daily petroleum pricing system.

According to a Petroleum Division notification issued on Thursday, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) adjusted the prices of petroleum products in line with the pricing mechanism introduced by the federal government.

The ex-depot price of High-Speed Diesel has been reduced from Rs371.80 to Rs371.61 per litre, representing a decrease of Rs0.19 per litre.

Meanwhile, the price of Motor Spirit, commonly known as petrol, has been cut from Rs343.10 to Rs342.60 per litre. The reduction amounts to Rs0.50 per litre.

The revised rates will apply specifically on August 28, 2026, marking another adjustment under the government’s move towards more frequent petroleum price revisions.

The notification covers the two major petroleum products, petrol and HSD, with OGRA determining their updated ex-depot rates according to the federal government’s revised pricing framework.

The latest decision provides consumers with a modest reduction in fuel prices for the applicable day. Petrol has recorded the larger decline, falling by Rs0.50 per litre compared with the Rs0.19 per litre decrease announced for diesel.

Following the latest revision, petrol will be sold at an ex-depot price of Rs342.60 per litre, while High-Speed Diesel will stand at Rs371.61 per litre on August 28.
