Petrol Hits Rs370.80, Diesel Nears Rs400 Per Litre

ISLAMABAD: Petrol prices have been raised by Rs3.05 per litre and high-speed diesel (HSD) by Rs5.37 for September 11, taking the cumulative increase over the past four days to Rs24.93 for petrol and Rs19.99 for diesel.

According to the Petroleum Division, the latest adjustment has taken the petrol price from Rs367.75 to Rs370.80 per litre, while HSD has climbed from Rs392.67 to Rs398.04 per litre.

This marks the fourth consecutive daily increase in petroleum prices. Since September 7, petrol has become Rs24.93 per litre more expensive, rising from Rs345.87 to Rs370.80, while HSD has increased by Rs19.99 from Rs378.05 to Rs398.04 per litre.

The daily revisions during this period include a Rs12.90 increase in petrol and Rs3.72 in HSD on September 8. On September 9, petrol rose by Rs5.58 and HSD by Rs4.18. The following day, petrol increased by Rs3.40 while diesel went up by Rs6.72. On September 11, another Rs3.05 was added to petrol and Rs5.37 to HSD.

The repeated increases are expected to put additional pressure on household and business fuel expenses. The impact of higher diesel prices is especially important for the transport and agriculture sectors, which rely heavily on HSD for freight, public transport, farm machinery and other commercial operations.

Rising diesel costs are likely to increase transportation and operating expenses, while the petrol increase will directly affect motorists and private vehicle owners.

Under Pakistan’s daily petroleum pricing mechanism, fuel prices are revised each day. The latest rates came into effect on September 11, 2026.

With the latest adjustment, both major petroleum products are approaching the Rs400-per-litre level, with petrol now priced at Rs370.80 and HSD at Rs398.04 per litre.
