Petrol Rises to Rs396.65, Diesel Falls to Rs394.94

The government has raised the price of petrol by Rs1.82 per litre to Rs396.65, while reducing the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) by 91 paisas to Rs394.94 for October 8, 2026.

According to the Petroleum Division, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) revised the ex-depot prices under the government’s petroleum pricing mechanism.

Before the latest adjustment, petrol was being sold at Rs394.83 per litre, while the price of HSD stood at Rs395.85.

The Petroleum Division attributed the changes to fluctuations in international petroleum prices, including movements in Platts rates, premiums and other relevant components used in determining domestic fuel prices.

The latest revision has been made under the government’s daily petroleum pricing mechanism, through which local fuel prices are adjusted according to international market trends and associated costs.

The newly revised prices will remain in effect for October 8, 2026.
