Petrol Falls to Rs398.30, Diesel Rises to Rs396.24

The federal government has lowered petrol prices by 66 paisas per litre to Rs398.30, while raising the rate of high-speed diesel (HSD) by 52 paisas to Rs396.24 per litre for the period from October 10 to October 12, 2026.

According to a notification issued by the Petroleum Division on Friday, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) revised the ex-depot rates of petroleum products under the government's fuel pricing mechanism.

Under the revised rates, petrol has dropped from Rs398.96 to Rs398.30 per litre, whereas HSD has risen from Rs395.72 to Rs396.24 per litre.

The Petroleum Division attributed the changes to movements in international oil markets, including fluctuations in Platts rates, premiums and other applicable costs.

The new prices will remain in force for three days, starting Saturday, October 10, and ending Monday, October 12.

The latest revision comes after Thursday's increase, when petrol became costlier by Rs2.31 per litre and diesel prices rose by 78 paisas per litre.

Petrol is commonly used in motorcycles, cars and other passenger vehicles, while diesel serves as a key fuel for heavy transport, agricultural machinery and logistics operations.

The changes have been made under the government's revised petroleum pricing mechanism, which allows domestic fuel rates to be adjusted frequently in response to international market fluctuations.
