Engro Powergen Appoints Khurram Abdullah as CEO

Engro Powergen Qadirpur Limited has named Khurram Abdullah as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective October 15, 2026, following Athar Abrar Khwaja’s resignation from the position.

In a notice submitted to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on Tuesday, the company announced that its board of directors had approved Abdullah’s appointment for the remainder of the current term, which will end with the next election of directors.

The notice stated that Khurram Abdullah would assume the CEO role on October 15, 2026, and continue serving until the conclusion of the existing term on the date of the next directors’ election.

The company also disclosed that outgoing CEO Athar Abrar Khwaja had been appointed as a director to fill a casual vacancy on the board.

Khwaja will remain in the directorship for the rest of the current term, which will conclude when the next election of directors takes place.
