Petrol Falls to Rs390.23, Diesel Rises to Rs396.96

ISLAMABAD: The government has lowered petrol prices by Rs3.63 per litre to Rs390.23 for October 16, 2026, while raising the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) by 31 paisa to Rs396.96 per litre.

Under the revised rates announced by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA), petrol has declined from Rs393.86 to Rs390.23 per litre, offering consumers limited relief amid persistently high fuel costs. Meanwhile, high-speed diesel has become slightly more expensive, rising from Rs396.65 to Rs396.96 per litre.

The updated prices will take effect on October 16, 2026, under the federal government's petroleum pricing mechanism.

The Petroleum Division attributed the changes to developments in international markets, including fluctuations in Platts rates, premiums and other incidental charges.

The latest adjustment delivers a Rs3.63-per-litre reduction in petrol prices, while diesel users will face an increase of 31 paisa per litre.
