Pakistan Raises Fuel Prices as Petrol Crosses Rs382

ISLAMABAD: Fuel consumers across Pakistan are set to face another price hike, as the government has raised petroleum rates effective Wednesday, October 21, 2026. Petrol has now exceeded Rs382 per litre, while diesel prices are approaching Rs390.

The Petroleum Division, operating under the Ministry of Energy, confirmed that the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has updated the ex-depot fuel rates for October 21, 2026, in line with the federal government's petroleum pricing policy.

New Fuel Rates

Petrol (Motor Spirit) now costs Rs382.02 per litre, reflecting an increase of Rs0.88 from its previous rate of Rs381.14. High Speed Diesel (HSD) has also become more expensive, rising by Rs0.53 from Rs389.27 to Rs389.80 per litre. The revised prices take effect on October 21.

Factors Behind the Increase

Officials from the Petroleum Division linked the latest adjustment to international market developments, including fluctuations in Platts benchmark prices, fuel premiums and other related costs. Platts benchmarks serve as key international pricing references for petroleum imports. Changes in these rates influence Pakistan's import expenses and can translate into higher domestic fuel prices, even when global price movements are relatively small.
