The Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) achieved remarkable growth in December 2024, reporting a 16.16% increase compared to the same month last year and a 19% rise from November 2024.
According to the PRA spokesperson, the authority collected Rs118 billion in tax revenues between July and December of the current fiscal year, marking a 10.35% increase over the same period last year. Key contributors included an 8% rise in Punjab Sales Tax on Services, a 25% boost in the Punjab Infrastructure Development Cess, and an impressive 76% growth in the Punjab Workers Welfare Fund.
This exceptional performance was achieved without introducing new taxes or increasing existing rates. The PRA's success is attributed to targeted workshops for stakeholders and taxpayers, along with efforts to broaden the tax base. The authority is confident it will exceed its tax targets for the fiscal year.
