Pakistan Passport 4th Weakest Globally in Henley Index

| 17-Oct-2025

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistani passport has been ranked the fourth-weakest globally for the fifth year running, per the latest Henley Passport Index.

Sharing 103rd position with Yemen, Pakistan’s passport grants visa-free access to just 31 destinations out of 227. Only Iraq (104th), Syria (105th), and Afghanistan (106th) fare worse.

The Henley Passport Index assesses a nation’s visa-free score by the number of travel destinations accessible without a visa or via visa on arrival.

Pakistan held steady from 2024’s 100th rank with 32 countries, maintaining its status among the weakest passports since at least 2021’s 107th place and identical score.

Singapore tops the list with 193 destinations, trailed by South Korea (190) and Japan (189). Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, Spain, and Switzerland tie for fourth at 188.

The United States plummeted to 12th with 180 destinations, while the UK passport slid from sixth to eighth—its lowest since leading in 2015.

China’s passport also declined, dropping from 59th to 64th, with its visa-free score shrinking from 85 to 82 destinations.
