LAHORE: The Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) has cracked down on hotels, restaurants, and other businesses in Lahore, Gujranwala, and Multan, imposing fines for failing to issue sales tax invoices and neglecting the Electronic Invoice Monitoring System (E-IMS).
A PRA spokesperson revealed that inspections across multiple locations targeted compliance with tax regulations. Businesses found flouting invoice issuance or bypassing E-IMS faced penalties, while others received warning notices.
As part of its robust tax awareness campaign, the PRA is rolling out initiatives across cities to enforce proper invoice issuance and mandatory E-IMS adoption.
In a separate development, a meeting at the Commissioner PRA Multan’s office engaged Marriage Halls and Marquees Association representatives. Officials outlined E-IMS implementation, timely tax payments, and new business registrations.
The association pledged cooperation but noted that recent flooding had curtailed business activity, hindering tax compliance in the region, according to the spokesperson.
