RAKHNI: The Field Enforcement Unit (FEU) under the Collectorate of Customs (Enforcement), Quetta, has smashed a brazen smuggling plot, unearthing 188 cartons of foreign-origin cigarettes buried under a coal load in a Hino truck (TTD-853), as per reliable intelligence.
Customs officers pounced near Rakhni, exposing the contraband worth Rs23.5 million. The seizure—cigarettes plus truck valued at Rs15 million—totals Rs38.5 million. Both goods and vehicle seized, hauled to customs warehouse for legal hammer under the Customs Act, 1969.
The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) saluted the Rakhni squad’s swift strike, fueling the government’s war on smuggling to shield revenue and fortify legitimate trade.
