IESCO Fines Rs13.6M, Arrests 42 in Power Theft Blitz

ISLAMABAD: IESCO has slammed Rs13.6 million in fines on 158 power thieves in October 2025, arresting 42 suspects in a ruthless crackdown on electricity theft.

Inspection squads scanned 94,000+ meters, uncovering 142 direct hookups and 16 tampered units. IESCO’s CEO, Engineer Ch. Khalid Mahmood, branded theft a national sabotage that crushes honest consumers and stifles growth.

The blitz scorched Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Attock, Jhelum, Chakwal, and beyond, bolstered by police muscle. Mahmood vowed unrelenting, bias-free war until theft is eradicated. “Pakistan’s prosperity demands zero tolerance,” he thundered.
