OFFICE ORDER NO. 08/2008
In order to expeditiously liquidate pendency of the duty drawback claims following instructions are issued to the Appraising officer/staff of the Export-DDB Section:
i. Every officer will be given a list of duty drawback claims by the officer Incharge (Assistant Collector, Exports-DDB) alongwith the cheque numbers. A time frame will be given to dispose off the allowed duty drawback claims. The appraising officers are directed to comply with the timelines so given for sanctioning or otherwise of the claim.
ii. The processing officer will entertain the claims given in his own allotted list while issuing the cheque numbers the allotted series will be followed.
iii. For speedy disposal of the duty drawback claims the assessing officer will avoid any undue objection. However, it is pertinent to mention that the bonafide claims, under the relevant rules and regulation qualify for final approval.
iv. The claims of the reputed exporters who maintain a very good profile with the department, will be disposed off on priority and without any delay.
v. The shift working hours to be followed strictly.
vi. The dispatch section will ensure that the cheques are sent through courier service and a proper courier receipt with date is maintained for reference. No cheques should be delivered in person or by hand to any exporters or his representative acknowledgment of courier service be kept in record/ reference.
2. All the concerned Appraising Officers /staff of the Export Section is directed to follow these instruction, otherwise strict disciplinary action shall be initiated.
3. This issue with the approval of the Additional Collector-1, Exports PaCCS, Model Customs, Collectorate , Custom House, Karachi.
