In order to reduce the Customs clearance time to facilitate the quick clearance of import cargo through Model Customs Collectorate of Appraisement, all the Assistant/Deputy Collectors are directed to monitor and reduce the pendency in their respective functional areas.
2. Manager (PRAL) shall re-activate/generate a general statement relating to GDs pending clearance for more than 24 hours, 48 hours, 72 hours and seven days. Such statements shall also be generated on daily basis for each appraisement group, wharf and off-dock terminal and handed over to the respective Assistant/ Deputy Collectors. The concerned Assistant /Deputy Collectors are required to monitor the pendency situation and take immediate remedial measures to reduce the clearance time.
3. These reports will be presented before the concerned Additional Collectors each week, who will supervise the pendency situation in their respective jurisdiction to ensure desired reduction in the Customs clearance time.
4. Deputy Collector (CB/PRAL) will fortnightly prepare a unified pendency statement for whole of the Collectorate for perusal of the Collector.
