SUB: Examination/Assessment of Miscellaneous Goods
Reference is made to the following:-

2. The orders/instructions contained in above referred orders are reiterated for strict compliance. It is further emphasized that a complete declaration in respect of imported goods shall be made on the bill of entry including trade name, brand name, specifications, full quantity etc. The bill of entry shall accompany invoice/packing list containing every detail in respect of description, quantity and the value of the goods. In this regard it is hereby ordered that:-
a) Customer Service Centre shall not accept any bill of entry not having mentioned thereon complete description and quantity of goods and the entry is not accompanied with relevant documents.
b) Henceforth, the description and the quantity declared on the bill of entry at the time of its filing at, the Customer Service Centre shall be deemed to be final anything found at the time of physical examination of the goods contrary to the declared description and quantity shall constitute an offence under the Custom Act, 1969:
c) at the time of physical examination, the customs staff shall carry out tallying of description and quantity and shall appropriately report any mis-declaration by the importer in respect of description, quantity, valuation etc., for further action by the concerned Appraising group.
