CIRCULAR NO. 11/2011

SUB:    100% Examination of the Consignments of Miscellaneous Goods/ old education books/ paper scrap etc.

            It has been noticed that consignments of miscellaneous goods, old education books, paper scrap/news-paper scrap etc. are being subject to examination to the extent of 5-10% only by the Appraising Groups/Sheds. This is in violation of orders/instructions contained in Public Notice No. 10/2007 dated 04.04.2007, Office order No. 04/2007 dated 04.12.2007, Office Order No. 01/2008 dated 23.01.2008, Office Order No. 14/2008-Estt (A) dated 29.01.2008 which provides detailed procedure to carry out proper examination and correct assessment of the consignments pertaining to all sorts of scraps and miscellaneous goods.

B.        It is therefore, circulated for information and strict compliance by all concerned to implement the orders/ procedure contained in Public Notice No. 10/2007 dated 04.04.2007, Office Order No. 4/2007 dated 04.12.2007, Office Order No. 01/2008 dated 23.01.2008, Office Order No. 14/2008-Estt (A) dated 29.01.2008, in letter and spirit. Delinquency on the part of an AO/EB to be immediately reported by the concerned to the AC/DC for further action.
