Sub:  Assessment /EXAMINATION ALERT

1)             Zinc Sulphate is used in feed as well as in fertilizer.  SRO 1007(I)/2005 is extendable only to feed grade. But some unscrupulous elements are claiming benefit of exemption of sales tax by claiming SRO1007(I)/2005 by declaring non-feed grades into feed grades. Recently such case has been detected by the undersigned and deleting benefit of SRO 1007(I)/2005 has resulted into additional revenue of Rs 2 million (KAPE-HC-7843-22-07-2014 ). It is therefore, proposed that all such consignments should be invariably sent into examination to get confirmed as feed grade. Examining Officers would also be ordered to confirm its grade whatsoever it is. It may also be circulated that contraventions of such items be initiated after deleting benefit of SRO 1007(I)/2005 if feed grade is not confirmed.

2)    Accordingly a draft Assessment /Examination Alert is put up for perusal and approval please.
