GOVERNMENT OF PAKISTAN
MODEL CUSTOMS COLLECTORATE OF APPRAISEMENT (EAST)
CUSTOM HOUSE, KARACHI.
C. No 1018/KADE/DC-III/2015 Dated: Jan, 11, 2016
SUB: ASSESSMENT IN RESPECT OF COMMODITIES BEING IMPORTED FROM INDIA.
Scrutiny of consignments of different items imported from the India revealed that export price of these items, as declared to the India Customs, is higher than the value fixed by the Directorate General of Valuation, Karachi. This aspect was unearthed while tracing footprints of such consignments through bill of ladings where in the shipping bill number filed in India and their dates were mentioned. It is mentionable here that details of India exports viz-a-viz Shipping Bill No. date, Container No, Number of Packages., Weight, & Description of exported commodity etc are now available on e-Commerce Portal of Central Board of Excise and Customs on website www.Cegate.gov.in. Contravention in such cases have been framed which are under adjudication.
2. The aforesaid facts prove that the importers are deliberately concealing the actual transaction value of the good which is an attempt to deprive the Government of its legitimate revenue in lieu of duty and taxes.
3. In wake of foregoing, all the field formalities are requested to ensure proper assessment of the commodities being imported from India
