CIRCULAR

SUB:    PRINTING OF NTN OF THE IMPORTER  ON FRONT SIDE OF PAY ORDER ALONGWITH THE NAME OF IMPORTER.

It has been observed that on the front of Pay Orders only ‘On account of Collector Customs, Karachi A/C party XYZ’, is typed whereas NTN of the importer is not mentioned, and the same is hand written on the back of PO. This non mentioning of NTN of the importers on front of Pay Orders by the issue into banks, leaves room for fraudulent deposit of Pay Order of one importer into the PD Account of another importer.

3.         In view of the above, the competent authority has directed that w.e.f 15" May 2017, the Security Section will receive only those Pay Orders as security where NTN of the importer is printed on its front side along with its name.
