PUBLIC NOTICE NO. 5/1980

SUB:     Asphalt plant marini m. 160e 150 m.s.g. pct classification

It is notified for the information of all concerned that the specification of classification of the above-mentioned Asphalt Plant has been under the consideration of the Nomenclature committee of the Customs Cooperation council, Brussels. This plant consists of several units such as (i) feeder unit, (ii) dryer, (iii) dust collector, (iv) screening, sorting, mixing unit, (v) hot mix storage bin and (vi) bitumen storage and storage tanks. The Committee after thorough deliberations has decided that plant under consideration should be regarded as a functional unit of Chapter 84.56, its single function being the preparation of bituminous road carpeting material of the kind produced by the machines of the heading. The said asphalt plant is, therefore classifiable under heading 84.56.
