PUBLIC NOTICE NO. 15/1982 (APPRAISEMENT)

SUB:   Classification Electric Sockets/plugs and multi plugs/ sockets 

It is notified for general information of the trade that electric sockets/plugs and multi plugs/sockets of 15 amperes 250 volts are classifiable under heading 8536.6910 of the P.C.T. These are domestic type and are not covered by the import licence for "electric instrument, apparatus and appliance, Nos. (other than domestic type), and parts and accessories thereof as per SI. No. 285, part A-Section IV of the Import Policy Order, 1981. Such goods are correctly importable as per Serial No. 5 "Electrical accessories (non-industrial)", of the tied list of the Import Policy Order, 1981.

Henceforth, release of above mentioned goods against import license as per Serial No. 285 of the said import Policy Order, 1981 will not be allowed, if Letters of Credit were opened after the of issue of this Public Notice.
