PUBLIC NOTICE NO. 3/1983. (APPRAISEMENT)

SUB:  Criteria for classification of microscopes of PCT Headings 90.12 & 97.03.

It is notified for the information of all concerned that on the basis of Customs Cooperation Council's opinion contained in their letter No. L/79 dated 12-7-79 and received through Minister (Customs Affairs), Embassy of Pakistan, Brussels vide his letter No. 3(64)-M(CA)/78 dated 12-9-79, the distinguishing criteria for classification of microscopes of P.C.T. headings 90.12 and those of 97.03 will be on the basis of eyepiece diameter and the tube length as under:-

(1)       Microscopes having the eyepiece diameter (i.e. the outside diameter of the lens tube) not less than 16mm and that of tube length (i.e. the distance between the face where the eyepiece-is attached and the face where the objective is attached) not less than 110 mm will be classified in heading 90.12.
