STANDING ORDER NO.8/1984-(PREVENTIVE) 

SUB:  Handling of Air/Cargo/Custodian ship to M/s. P.I.A.C. and M/s. Shaheen Air Port Services at Karachi Airport, Karachi.

In pursuance of Central Board of Revenue Islamabad's decision contained in their letter C.No.2 (2) L&P/84 dated: 5.7.1984 regarding handling and custody of air- cargo and freight by M/s. Pakistan International Airlines Corporation and M/s. Shaheen Airport Services, the following procedure is laid down:---

1.     The Airline would continue to submit the copies of the import General Manifest to the Inspector Preventive, Incharge Airfreight unit, Karachi as well as Manifest section N.F.U. for manifestation of bills of entry and baggage declarations as usual. The Incharge will post an officer to enter the manifested cargo in the customs register being already maintained for the purpose. The new custodians i.e. M/s. P.I.A.C. and M/s. Shaheen Airport Services will also maintain their own registers regarding receipt and disposal of the consignments and shall record particulars of the consignments/packages such as IGTT number, Index number, Airway bill number and date and importer/passenger's name address etc.

2.     The custody of the goods inside the sheds would then remain under the double lock/key and seal system by the custodians and customs. After completion of documents and signing out of charge the importers/agents.
