SUB:              PCT CLASSIFICATION OF VIDEO PROJECTOR

PCT Committee has considered the classification of “Video Projectors” According to the literature produced the apparatus under reference is an advanced colour Video projector which is designed for automatic detection and reproduction of signals in PAL, SECAM and M-NTSC (4.43) colouring systems. The system switch is also provided for reception of any of these formats if automatic detection is not required. The item under reference has upto 2.5M (100 inch) image size diagonal, and signal handling capability. It can be mounted on flooring while ceiling mounting and rear projection are also possible. It gives highly viewable picture with most flat or curved screens. It is capable to accommodate screens of sizes ranging from 1.3M to 2.56M. It is equipped with a 1.5M wired remote control unit that includes all functions viz., brightness, contrast, coiour, vertical hold, power on/off and static convergence adjustment. To permit the most precise convergence adjustment if has its own complete built-in cross-hatch generator as such no external sync is required. It is mainly used in hospitals, educational institutions and conference rooms for projection of screen.

In view of the above, the item under reference is a video reproducing apparatus which appropriately and specifically falls for classification under PCT heading 92.11C.
