PUBLIC NOTICE NO. 06/1990 (APPRAISEMENT) 

SUB:    Streamlining OF THE PROCEDURE OF EXAMINATION AND ASSESSMENT OF EVA SHEET AND RUBBRE SHEET (SERIVCEABLE) JOB LOT IMPORTED IN THE GRAB OF PLASTIC RUBBER SCRAP.

The consignment of EVA sheet and Rubber sheet have been imported against the import licences valid for rubber/plastic scrap for the last 3-4 years. In the year 1985-86 the practice vogue regarding release of the goods was the serviceable portion of (ranging from 10 to 40 % from case) EVA and Rubber sheet was detained and bonafide scrap released on payment of leviable taxes. The serviceable portions were released after adjudication.

In order to streamline the ITC aspect/action of these items, the following measures are ordered on all importing with immediate effect:-

i)          The respective Shed Staff are directed to report serviceable portion of the EVA/Rubber Sheet-lot/Job-lot and bonafide scrap separately;

ii)             As the import of stock-lot / job-lot is not permissible necessary ITC regulation and Import and Export (Control) Act, 1950.
